September

Here are some of the things we have been getting up to in September.

We celebrated European School Sports Day on Friday 24th September. Our class represented Belgium and we learned some interesting facts about it. We marched in the parade for the rest of the school and cheered on the other countries. We made flags and chain links and proudly marched around. In the afternoon, we had fun with the basketballs and ad a disco with the 1st and other 2nd classes. It was so much fun!

We have been looking at warm and cool colours in Art. We used paints to investigate mixing of colours and put them on the colour wheel. We used our knowledge of the colour wheel to help us when we used our chalk pastels to create abstract portraits. We were inspired by Sandra Silberzweig and her use of vibrant colours. We smudged our pastels to create a really nice effect.

Check out our beautiful artwork!

Teacher read us the story of The Dot and we were inspired to create our own dots, using warm and cool colours.

We also did a science experiment using markers, coffee filter paper and water. We placed a dot on the filter paper and placed into some water. We were amazed to see the colours seperate on the filter paper.

We have been using the relay batons in PE. We have gotten very fast at running around the track and loved passing the baton to our teammates and seeing who would get back to their team first!
